This is not about oaks only.  But just in time for Christmas, a classic of dendrological literature, the text of the Eighth Edition of Bean's Trees and Shrubs Hardy in the British Isles and its Supplement, is now available online under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International Public License,  thanks to the International Dendrology Society.
